What is preserved moss?
Preserved moss is real moss that has been harvested and preserved. It keeps its natural look and soft feel, but no longer grows, so it needs no water, no soil and no daylight.
Is it real moss?
Yes. We only use real, preserved moss and plants, no plastic. Forest moss, pole moss and plants are preserved with a glycerine-based solution and food colouring; reindeer moss is dried and coloured with a salt solution.
How do I care for a moss picture?
Hardly at all: no watering, no spraying. Avoid constant direct sunlight, spotlights at close range and heat sources such as radiators. Ideal humidity is approx. 40–70 %. Details on our care page.
How long does preserved moss last?
With the right spot, preserved moss stays green for many years. Strong sunlight, very dry air or heat can make the colour fade sooner.
Does it need light?
No. Moss pictures work in rooms without windows, in hallways or meeting rooms, as long as there is no constant intense sunlight.
Products & custom pieces
How heavy is a moss picture and how is it mounted?
Depending on the greening approx. 6–16 kg per m². Moss pictures hang on a French cleat or hangers; moss walls are screwed to the wall as module panels. An installation guide comes with every delivery.
Can you make my logo in moss?
Yes. Any logo or lettering can be made in moss, on a moss wall or as a single piece, in acrylic, wood or cork. Just send us an EPS or vector file with your request.
Do you make custom sizes?
Yes. Moss pictures, moss walls and shapes are made to measure. Use our made-to-order configurator or describe your project and we get back to you with a proposal.
Does moss improve room acoustics?
Moss has an open, porous structure and can reduce reverberation, especially combined with a sound-absorbing base such as cork or felt. The effect depends on surface area, build and room. More on our acoustics page.

We deliver to Germany, Portugal and across the EU. Delivery time depends on the product and is confirmed in your proposal.
Where are your products made?
Every piece is made by hand by our team in our studio in Alfena near Porto, Portugal. Visits are possible by appointment.
